When you donate to Empath, your money goes towards a portfolio of projects from all areas of the charitable field.

Giving regularly to many charities reduces the risk and unfairness that otherwise characterise how individuals give to charity in a market suffering from over-competition. Giving through a central body that advertises projects but not charities also helps with this.

Giving as a group can empower each individual donor to make more decisions and reach more causes than their own contribution would otherwise allow; alternatively it offers an option to “just give” and feel secure that the donation is in good hands.
